CONGRATULATIONS!

            On Sunday, October 10th 2011, our Church welcomed a new Sister in Christ, Sydney Drew Farrington.  Sydney is the daughter of Tracy and Richard Farrington, and she is the little sister of Brook and Jamie.   Sydney is also the granddaughter of Mrs. Penny Hoyt and great granddaughter of Mrs. Josephine Bigham.

During Sydney Drew’s baptism, Will Smith read the following prayer in memory of her great-grandmother, Josephine Bigham.

 “O God of our ancestors, remind us that we have been selected and called by name to be Your people. Lord, we thank You for the saints, for all those dear people who lived the faith before us, who told us the stories of Jesus when we were younger, who set good examples of faithfulness before us. We especially hold in grateful memory those who were members of this church and assisted in its growth and strength of service. We confess our reluctance to deal with death.  Renew within us the resurrection faith so that we do not grieve that they no longer are, but we rejoice that they live in our hearts as well as in Your eternal presence.      Amen.”

Congratulations to Alexandra (Allie) OverGaard, who was named to the Deans’s List at William Paterson University for the Spring 2011 semester. She is a rising senior, majoring in the Fine Arts.  Allie graduated from Park Ridge High School in 2008.  She is the daughter of Dave and Becky OverGaard.
